10 Beauty-Related Things I Learned This Year

This year when I was looking for a new foundation, I came across Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter and used it all over my face. It’s meant to be used as a highlighter and/or underneath your makeup… I walked around for a few weeks looking like a sparkly vampire. Thankfully, I caught on and started using it correctly. From either experimentally or learning from others, I learned a few other beauty-related things this past year.

  1. Charlotte Tilbury is best used as a HIGHLIGHTER and not a foundation.

  2. Tongue scrapping takes your oral hygiene to a new level.

  3. Eyeliner pencils that are think make the best hair-like strokes. You would this this is obvious, but sometimes you have to see it to believe it.

  4. Use dry shampoo on clean hair to be proactive and add texture/volume.

  5. Have fun with nail polish.

  6. Carmex will heal lips in a day.

  7. Baby wash cloths are the way to go for removing makeup and washing your face.

  8. Jojoba oil is a game changing makeup remover.

  9. Applying powder in a circular motion will give a more natural look and lasts longer (thanks for the tip, April!)

  10. Exfoliating helps with cell turnover, product penetration, deeply unclogs pores, prevents acne, and evens skin tone.

May your days be merry and bright (as your highlighter). Happy New Year.
